Terms of service
Last updated: 28 September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of this website and your purchase of our digital products. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. Who we are
This shop is operated by The Happy Fryer ("we", "us", "our"), a business established in Spain (Plaza de los Fueros 4, 31780 Bera, Navarra, Spain), contactable at support@thehappyfryer.uk.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to buy from us. If you are younger, a parent or guardian must place the order.
3. What we sell
We sell digital ebooks: air fryer recipe collections and meal-planning guides, supplied as downloadable PDF files. No physical goods are sold or posted.
Our products are for general information and personal use. Recipes, nutrition estimates and meal plans are not medical, dietary or nutritional advice, and are not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If you have a medical condition or a food allergy, are pregnant, or follow a special diet, speak to your GP or a registered dietitian before changing how you eat. Always check ingredient labels for allergens.
You are responsible for safe food handling, including cooking meat, poultry and fish until they are cooked through (UK guidance is a core temperature of 75 °C, or equivalent, for poultry, minced meat, sausages and reheated food), and for using your air fryer according to its manufacturer's instructions. Cooking times and temperatures are guidelines and may need adjusting for your model.
4. Orders and prices
All prices are in pounds sterling and include any VAT. There are no delivery charges on digital products.
Your order is accepted when we make your download links available and send your confirmation email. We may change prices, run promotions or withdraw products at any time; a change never affects an order you have already completed. If a product is listed at an obviously wrong price because of a technical or human error, we will tell you and, if you don't want to go ahead at the correct price, cancel the order and refund you in full.
How we show pack prices and "price if bought separately" is explained in our Terms of Sale.
5. Payment
Payments are processed securely by Shopify and its payment providers. We never see or store your full card details.
6. Your 14-day cancellation right and our guarantee
At checkout you agree to immediate access to your digital content and acknowledge that your 14-day right to cancel ends once the download starts. Instead, every purchase has our voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee, explained in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms and is in addition to your statutory rights.
7. Your licence to use our ebooks
When you buy an ebook, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download, read, print and keep it for your own private, non-commercial use, for life. You may use the recipes to cook for your household, family and friends.
You may not:
- resell, rent, sub-license, share or otherwise distribute the files;
- upload them to file-sharing sites, social media, forums, publicly shared cloud folders, or datasets used to train artificial intelligence;
- share your download links publicly;
- copy substantial parts of the content for commercial use, or present it as your own.
We (and our licensors) keep all copyright and other intellectual property rights in our products and in this website's content. If you break these licence terms, we may end your licence.
8. Reviews and testimonials
Reviews and testimonials on our site come from real customers and reflect their own experience; individual results vary. Where a review has been translated from another language, we say so and show the country the customer is from. We do not pay for reviews, write them ourselves or post reviews by people who have not used the product, and we do not hide negative reviews because they are negative. If we ever give a customer something in exchange for a review, we will say so next to the review. If you submit a review, you allow us to display it (with your first name and initial) on our site and in our adverts, and you confirm it is honest and based on your own use of the product.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to use this website unlawfully, to try to gain unauthorised access to it, to interfere with how it works, or to scrape or copy it with automated tools.
10. Availability
We aim to keep the website and your download links available at all times, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted access. If you lose access to a product you bought, contact us and we'll restore it.
11. Our responsibility to you
We supply our digital content with reasonable care and skill, and it will be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If it isn't, you have the remedies set out in our Refund Policy. We do not promise any particular weight-loss, health or cooking result.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. If defective digital content we supply damages a device or other digital content belonging to you, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, or for business losses, as our products are for personal use only.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your statutory rights.
12. Resolving problems
Most problems can be fixed with one email. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@thehappyfryer.uk and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. If we can't, you may bring a claim in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live (for example, the small claims track in England and Wales, simple procedure in Scotland, or the small claims court in Northern Ireland), or in any other court with jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms requires you to use arbitration or takes away your right to go to court.
Please also see the note on card disputes in our Refund Policy: contacting us is almost always the fastest way to get your money back.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, where our business is established. If you are a consumer living in the United Kingdom, this choice of law does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer protection and data protection laws of the part of the UK where you live, and you may enforce your rights in the courts where you live.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
15. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. These Terms, together with our Terms of Sale, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about your purchase.
